Sekaten Ceremony

 Sekaten or Sekaten Ceremony (derived from the word Syahadatain or two sentences creed) is the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday held on the 5th of each month Mulud Java (early Rabiul Hijrah) in the plaza north of Surakarta and Yogyakarta. The ceremony was formerly used by the Sultan Hamengkubuwana I, founder of the palace of Yogyakarta to invite the public to follow and embrace Islam.
